Quote of the Session:
“Diagnosis helped me understand why people see me the way they do”
The benefits and process of getting a diagnosis has been discussed in various sessions, but this particular aspect has not been mentioned. Being constantly misunderstood is a common experience for ADHD’ers. There can be a disconnect with who we think we are, and how others perceive us. Diagnosis can help bridge that gap simply by giving you an understanding and awareness of self.
Getting your confidence back:
Despite our best intentions and effort, we all hit rough patches where things just don’t work out. It’s hard to not get down on ourselves as ADHD’ers as feeling like a failure and not being good enough is something we’ve felt all through our lives. Our confidence can take a huge hit as a result.
When hitting these rough patches, how do we get our confidence back?
- Maintain ADHD treatment (meds, therapy, self care)
- Lean into areas of strength for easy wins
- Identify and appreciate your accomplishments
- Know your not alone
That last piece is why I started a free group coaching and support session. In it, we uplift and appreciate each other as the unique individuals we all are. Sometimes we do that by lending an empathetic ear, creating a safe space for expressing emotions, and by reminding each other that the negativity in our heads is not who we really are.
ADHDvCon and my video premiere:
Last Tues, I premiered my first short video at ADHDvCon. It was an amazing moment for me and I’m still processing it. What an honor it was to be featured with so many incredible creators.
If you missed it here’s the link to it. My video starts at the 20 minute mark with a short Q&A after that I got to be a part of. An amazing moment that I’m still processing. Lots of wonderful content from other creators in the ADHD space. Looking forward to next year! ADHDvCon Day 1
I also posted the short video on my YouTube channel for standalone viewing. Reclaiming Your ADHD | Edition #3 – Fixing A Hole

Takeaways:
First time trying this short form newsletter. Trying to not overthink it too much and give a taste of the small moments of inspiration and connection that happen in coaching. Hope you all enjoy it.
